Brenda D. DavisBrenda (Quates) Davis, 61, of Converse Texas, born on July 15, 1951 in Mesa, Arizona, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 27, 2012 after a long illness.

Brenda was preceded in death by her son Larry Ulbrich, father Dwight Louis Quates and mother Donnie Jacobsen. Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Michael Davis; children, Leslie and husband Ron Chaplin and Tracy Ulbrich of Converse, Texas; brothers, Ron and his wife Debbie Quates of Magnolia, Texas, Bruce Quates of Royce City, Texas; sisters, Lisa Quates and partner Mary Andrews of Universal City, Texas, and Sarah and husband Leslie Burton of St. Cloud, Florida; grandchildren, Andrea and Justin Morris, and Heaven Ulbrich; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brenda graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in 1969 and was the first Lion Club Queen.

Brenda was a purchasing agent for a Block Distributing Company until she retired in 2009 due to illness.

Brenda loved her family and was always there for them. Brenda took on the role of caregiver for her mother and then her mother in law until both of their passing.

Michael Davis and the family would like to thank Nancy Gendron, Brenda’s caregiver and friend, for caring for Brenda for the past 4 years during her illness. What a blessing Nancy has been and she will always be in our hearts. The family would also like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at NE Methodist Hospital for taking such good care of Brenda through her illness.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00PM - 9:00PM. Funeral Service will be Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:00AM at Schertz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Lung Association or charity of choice.
